On Sunday a young Bromsgrove RFC team won the Plate Competition at the 24 team Alcester 7s. The team were unfortunate to lose their first round cup match to invitational team Squashed Budgies, 4 tries to 2, but then went onto win their next four matches beating Bournville RFC in the final in a thunderstorm. Captain Drew Harper lifted the trophy whilst three players shared the top try scorer award with 6 a piece – Sam Bastock, Barney Parker and Charlie Carter and Chris MacGregor won the top tackler award for the tournament. The team will now go on to the Wye Valley Brewery 7s at Luctonians RFC this weekend.

The under 13's carried off a massive championship winning performance on Sunday in the North Midlands tournament. "We beat Ledbury 59-0 and Bromyard 12-0 in the early rounds, and Moseley 24-0 in the semi and Walsall 19 - 7 in the final. Line breached once and 104 points scored in  68 minutes of rugby. The lads were on fire." said, Chris Hargreaves.
