Whilst I sympathise with some of Webmasters comments re your withdrawal from the North Mids Cup, especially the competition being devalued, Whitchurch honoured their fixture (and lost), Luctonians did the same two years ago as did Malvern v Droitwich, all when faced with fielding understrength sides. I have to say that most of the clubs in the North Mids see your withdrawal as a cynical act - and repetition of two years ago - to ensure you are able to put out a full strength and injury-free league side as you try to win the Championship outright. We all want to see a strong North Midlands presence in Mids One, but, lads, your reputation on the circuit is fast diminishing.
Having said all that, Malvern will do their best against Derby to ensure your last fixture is as "spiced up" as possible!

Where are you? Malvern
Webmaster Comments: Peter,
The simple truth is that the date which was chosen (27th March) had been 'spare' up till two weeks beforehand. As a result players were un-available and the reason we were unable to play that day was because we couldn't comply with the competition rules i.e. 5 registered front row forwards in the squad. Also, we didn't withdraw, we requested a date change, which was refused. Sadly, as a consequence of inflexibility by all parties the competition has been cancelled this season therefore no representation in the Senior Cup next season, THAT is what's bad about the whole affair.
